My Secession Party

James Newitt, 2011

James Newitt, My Secession Party, 2011 was commissioned by Contemporary Art Services Tasmania as part of the public art project ‘Iteration:Again’, curated by David Cross.

James Newitt camped out on a pontoon for 2 weeks, writing, observing and occasionally conversing with curious locals. The guys from MONA even motored over to deliver him a steak and a bottle of wine. The project was assisted by GASP! for the CAST Iteration:Again program of temporary site specific installations around Tasmania. See More
