GASP! is situated within a new arts precinct created by the internationally renowned Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) which opened in January 2011.

Directly proximate to GASP! is the recently redeveloped Montrose Bay High School and Elwick Racecourse, the 5,400 seat capacity Derwent Entertainment Centre, and the Hobart Royal Show Grounds. Technopark (a centre for high tech industries) and the King George V football club are within 10 minutes on foot.
